The Conference "A World without Empire? Encounters and connections between African, European, and Soviet Communists, 1920s to 1970s" will take place at the Scuola Normale Superiore 25-27 October 2023 in Pisa. It is the final outcome of the PRIN Project "How Communism went global. Building connections between Soviet, European, and African communists, 1920s to 1960s". The project is conducted by researchers from Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, Università di Bologna and Università di Siena.
HumanEuroMed post-doc researcher Dora Tot will present a paper titled "Yugoslavia's 'Battle for Algiers': Intra-Socialist Competition in Colonial and Post-Colonial Algeria (1958-1965)" at the 2nd session "The Socialist Camp, Anti-imperialist players and Decolonization in Africa".
