In 2012, I earned my Phd in Slavic Studies from the University of Turin with a dissertation on the impact of Italian popular culture on Yugoslavia which was later awarded the Vinka Kitarovic award of the University of Bologna. In 2014-2016 I received a Marie Curie fellowship at the University of Fiume/Rijeka as part of the NEWFELPRO project. I held postdoctoral positions in the ERC project EIRENE (Postwar Transitions in Gendered Perspective: The Case of the North-Eastern Adriatic Region) hosted by the University of Ljubljana, the project Rijeka in Flux: Border and Urban Change after World War II , hosted by the University of British Columbia Okanagan and the Center for Advanced Studies South Eastern Europe, the ERC project Unlikely Refuge? Refugees and Citizens in East Central Europe in the 20th Century, hosted by the Masaryk Institute and Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
My work has appeared in a number of journals and edited volumes, including Contemporary European History, The Journal of Modern History, the Journal of Migration History, the Journal of East Central European Studies.
