Angela Santese
Post-doctoral Researcher (from February 2022 to September 2023)
Research interests: Cold War history, history of social movements and NGOs, pacifist and environmental history, transatlantic history.
Research topics: Italy and the relationship with Southern Africa countries.

I earned my PhD in Contemporary History from the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Bologna where I teach US Foreign Policy since 1945. In 2012 I was junior visiting scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center of Washington, DC. I was awarded the SISSCO (Società Italiana per lo Studio della Storia Contemporanea) Junior Prize for the best 2016 research monograph. Pieces based on my research appeared in The International History Review, Ricerche di Storia Politica and Contemporanea. Between February 2022 and September 2023 I was post-doctoral researcher at the University of Florence within the ERC project HumanEuroMed.
